South Korea unveils 98-point draft AI action plan for public comments

( December 15, 2025, 07:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s Presidential Council on National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, also called the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee, on Monday released details of a draft national AI action plan that will be finalized in early 2026 as the country’s most comprehensive blueprint for AI policy. The plan sets out 98 tasks across 12 strategic areas grouped under three pillars: building an AI-innovation ecosystem; steering a nationwide AI-driven transition; and contributing to the development of a global “AI basic society.” The draft, open for public comment for 20 days starting Tuesday, outlines specific steps to advance government AI initiatives announced in recent months. These include creating a nationwide AI highway, revising laws and regulations governing how the AI industry may use creative works, and strengthening national capabilities to deploy AI across real-world sectors.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
