Anthropic's request for injunction against US government gets backing from EFF, others

( March 9, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Electronic Frontier Foundation and other organizations urged a US federal court to enter an injunction against the government’s designation of Anthropic as a supply chain risk, saying it encroaches on the company’s First Amendment rights. “The Pentagon admits its sanction is retaliation for Anthropic’s speech and an effort to threaten or coerce it into compliance, an independent violation of the First Amendment. The Secretary of Defense and other government officials involved in the designation have not even tried to hide that they are trying to put Anthropic out of business merely for its dissent, not for any actual supply chain risk,” they said.See attached file. ...
