Antitrust - Google - Epic Games' litigation over alleged antitrust violations in control of app store and payment systems (US)

Google has been hit with an antitrust suit filed in federal court in San Francisco by Epic Games, in allegations that mirror Epic's suit filed against Apple. "Google has eliminated competition in the distribution of Android apps using myriad contractual and technical barriers," Epic said in a complaint that alleges violations of the Sherman Act and California's Cartwright Act. "Google’s actions force app developers and consumers into Google’s own monopolized “app store” — the Google Play Store. Google has thus installed itself as an unavoidable middleman for app developers who wish to reach Android users and vice versa."
