Wikipedia loses UK categorization challenge to Online Safety Act

Judge Jeremy Johnson ruled that the UK government acted lawfully in adopting categorization thresholds that could capture services such as the online knowledge source Wikipedia. Despite rejecting all four arguments raised by the host organization of Wikipedia, the judge warned that his decision “does not give Ofcom and the Secretary of State a green light to implement a regime that would significantly impede Wikipedia’s operations.”The case reference is Wikimedia Foundation and BLN v Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology....
