Alexa users oppose Amazon's request for immediate appeal in US privacy case

( August 11, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Alexa voice-assistant users suing Amazon for alleged wiretapping opposed the company’s request for permission to appeal an order on class certification, saying the case is already in its late stages and will proceed to the merits regardless. “While Amazon laments the Supreme Court’s recent refusal to resolve the alleged scourge of uninjured class members, there is no unsettled question of law in this circuit—certification is appropriate even where the class contains more than a de minimis number of members without standing. Amazon’s attempt to manufacture an intra-circuit split where none exists falls flat,” they said in opposition.See attached file. ...
