Malaysia launches national cloud computing policy

( August 13, 2025, 03:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Malaysia today unveiled its first National Cloud Computing Policy, a “whole-of-nation” strategy to accelerate digital transformation through a sovereign, secure, inclusive and sustainable cloud ecosystem. Announced by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, the policy outlines a national action plan to unify previously fragmented cloud initiatives and strengthen adoption across government, industry and society. The policy rests on five pillars: modernizing public services; boosting private-sector innovation and MSME competitiveness; strengthening data protection and privacy; bridging the digital divide through infrastructure expansion and literacy programs; and promoting environmentally sustainable cloud practices, such as green data centers.The press release and policy are attached....
