South Korea-EU Digital Trade Agreement invites public feedback

( August 28, 2025, 21:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The full text of the Digital Trade Agreement between South Korea and the European Commission is now available for public feedback, South Korea’s Ministry of Trade and Industry said. The ministry is inviting public feedback until Sept. 11, before finalizing the official text and moving toward signing the agreement. The agreement was concluded in March this year after seven rounds of negotiations. The agreement aims to facilitate digital trade and data-driven business between the two sides. It prohibits requirements to localize data-processing facilities, while promoting a safer environment for businesses and consumers through enhanced cooperation on cybersecurity and related issues.
