China unveils draft cybersecurity labeling rules to improve product security

( November 24, 2025, 08:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China has issued draft rules on cybersecurity labeling that encourage manufacturers to display a “Cybersecurity Label” to improve product security performance. The Cyberspace Administration of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will oversee the program and gradually roll out catalogues of products covered by the labeling scheme, starting with consumer internet-connected cameras. The labels will classify cybersecurity capabilities into three levels — basic, enhanced and leading — with the highest tier required to meet international standards and pass penetration testing.
