Ease EU sustainability reporting rules further, lawmakers suggest

( September 25, 2025, 12:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Companies should refrain from seeking information from business partners unless strictly necessary, EU lawmakers said in leaked draft amendments to the European Commission's corporate sustainability reporting simplification proposal. The draft suggests limiting information requests from smaller companies and shielding corporates from penalties if they cannot obtain value-chain data. Lawmakers also propose narrowing the scope of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive to cover only large companies with more than 1,750 employees and €450 million in turnover.Full amendments attached....
