Philippines competition, securities regulators sign data-sharing agreement

( December 15, 2025, 07:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Philippines’ competition and securities regulators have signed a data-sharing agreement granting the antitrust agency “streamlined” access to corporate information relevant to investigations into mergers, acquisitions and anti-competitive conduct. In a statement on Monday, the Philippine Competition Commission said the agreement builds on a 2016 pact that set out protocols for data sharing, including on-site, online and off-site access to records held by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The new agreement also establishes safeguards for data privacy and security in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, requiring both agencies to implement strict confidentiality measures and designate data protection officers to oversee compliance.Statement follows. ...
