UK would see bespoke AI copyright bill under lawmaker’s latest proposal

Assuming it is passed in the House of Lords, the government could use its majority in the House of Commons to again defeat it, but the move could push the government to build on hints at a future AI copyright bill and puts pressure on timelines.Deadlock over UK lawmakers' efforts to use a data reform bill as a vehicle to create protections for copyright holders over AI model training is set to continue with publication of an amendment to it that would commit the government to publish bespoke legislation on the issue.  ...
