Revised state aid rules to tackle housing crisis open for comments in EU

( October 3, 2025, 09:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Businesses and public authorities can now send feedback on changes to the rules for Services of General Economic Interest, under which EU member states can grant aid for affordable housing without needing to notify the European Commission. The revised SGEI rules, which are intended to allow EU countries to back affordable housing more quickly, also propose sectoral changes with regard to the critical medicines, aviation and maritime sectors.
