DC judges deny TikTok's appeal in addictive algorithms case

( August 26, 2025, 13:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Judges for the DC Court of Appeals denied TikTok's request for an appeal in the lawsuit brought by the DC attorney general alleging TikTok violated consumer protection laws and harmed children with addictive algorithms. TikTok applied for the interlocutory appeal, seeking to dismiss DC's allegations it violated the D.C. Money Transmitters Act, but the Court of appeals said such appeals are "intended to be exceptional and not merely means of accelerated review for what may appear to be difficult issue," the court said.See attached document. ...
