EU tech rules warrant ‘respect,’ not foreign meddling, antitrust chief Ribera says

Teresa Ribera told MLex that Europe’s legitimately adopted laws warranted “respect.” She also discussed a looming overhaul of the bloc’s approach to scrutinizing mergers and said Spain’s intervention in a domestic banking deal appeared to be within national powers.The EU’s rulebook for the likes of Google, Apple and Amazon and its climate taxes for imports won’t be sacrificed to ease US trade complaints, the bloc’s top competition enforcer said....
