EU customs overhaul position agreed by national governments

The deal includes plans for a new EU Customs Authority, a centralized data platform to streamline import checks, and simplified procedures for trusted traders. It also introduces several changes to the European Commission’s original proposal, such as retaining the existing Authorised Economic Operator program, and adding a handling fee on small consignments that enter the EU via distance selling.Full statement follows....
