Federal tax liens against a former attorney's property don't get priority over his father's property interests just because the father knew about his son's $4 million tax debt before recording a deed of trust to prevent foreclosure, the Ninth Circuit said.

A lower court correctly found that the U.S. government's tax liens should take priority in a dispute over collection of a former lawyer's $4 million tax debt, the U.S. has told the Ninth Circuit.
