IBM has agreed to pay $80,000 to end a former employee's Private Attorneys General Act action alleging the company exhibited anti-pregnancy bias, according to a joint motion for settlement lodged Sunday in California federal court.

A California federal judge won't grant IBM a quick win on a former employee's pregnancy bias claims, ruling Friday that the worker presented enough evidence to suggest the explanation for her layoff was a pretense for discrimination.
