A Virginia federal judge on Tuesday trimmed by more than 80 percent the amount of attorneys' fees a unit of BAE Systems PLC had requested after winning a False Claims Act suit, but still awarded about $109,000.

A unit of defense contractor BAE Systems PLC on Friday sought to dismiss a False Claims Act suit brought by a former regional manager claiming he was fired for exposing its allegedly fraudulent government billing practices, accusing him of refusing to return firm data he allegedly stole.
