A New Jersey federal judge on Friday refused to deliver a quick win to a former medical claims company employee alleging she was fired for objecting to suspicious Medicare claims that led to a $3.6 million settlement by a medical practice, saying she has not proved the business retaliated against her.

A medical claims company accused of firing an employee who flagged suspicious Medicare claims that led to a $3.6 million settlement by a New Jersey cardiology practice told a New Jersey federal court Friday the employee was terminated for other reasons and is not entitled to compensation.
