A group of Long Island car dealerships and a class of commission salespeople who say they were stiffed on their overtime hours asked a New York federal court for initial approval of a $700,000 settlement to their Fair Labor Standards Act dispute.

Workers for a car dealership chain can pursue their claim as a collective in their proposed class and collective suit alleging the chain and seven other Long Island dealerships stiffed them on overtime, a New York federal judge ruled.
