A New York federal judge has sided with a union in a dispute over whether a Manhattan hotel's operator must ensure a lender would honor a collective bargaining agreement if it took over the property, saying an arbitrator correctly ruled that the CBA required the operator to do so.

A New York hospitality union has asked a federal court not to vacate an arbitrator's award finding that a Manhattan hotel violated their contract through a mortgage that didn't require the lender to recognize the union in the event of default and repossession.
