Shipping and e-commerce technology company Pitney Bowes has reached a settlement to end a lawsuit involving two staffing firms it accused of providing it with unverified workers, according to a Friday order in Connecticut federal court.

Arguing that it suffered millions in losses by having to replace hundreds of unverified workers referred by staffing agencies, Connecticut-headquartered shipping and e-commerce technology company Pitney Bowes Inc. on Friday said a contractor that oversaw the "debacle" shouldn't escape liability by trying to blame a subcontractor.
