A former NASCAR team owner appeared in North Carolina federal court Wednesday to enter a guilty plea for his failure to pay payroll taxes, according to a U.S. Department of Justice statement.

The former owner and president of NASCAR team BK Racing LLC has been hit with a four-count indictment in North Carolina federal court accusing him of failing to pay payroll taxes for employees and instead using more than $2 million in unpaid taxes to fund his other businesses.
