The Eleventh Circuit on Thursday refused to hear en banc a breach-of-contract lawsuit against Geico General Insurance Co., delivering another defeat for the insurance company in its battle with a driver who alleges it failed to properly settle a personal injury claim from a traffic collision.

Geico General Insurance Co. on Tuesday accused an Eleventh Circuit panel of ignoring Florida law and circuit precedent when it ruled to uphold a bad faith verdict against the insurer, asking the court to rehear the matter en banc.
