A Kentucky federal judge on Tuesday granted a bid by concert venue operator Live Nation Worldwide Inc. on its coverage claim against Secura Insurance in Live Nation's suit seeking coverage for injuries claimed at a concert.

A Kentucky federal court Wednesday opted to first decide whether Secura Insurance must defend and indemnify Live Nation in litigation over alleged injuries at a Kentucky concert before addressing the venue operator's bad faith claim against the insurer, saying a ruling in Secura's favor on coverage would likely defeat the bad faith count.

Secura Insurance on Friday told a Kentucky federal court it does not have to provide concert venue operator Live Nation coverage for injuries claimed at a concert, saying its policy only covers the company that provided security for the concert.
