A Seventh Circuit panel has shot down an Illinois marker company's attempt to go after its insurer's attorneys, the latest in a long-running legal fight that began when the insurer refused to defend the company in a 2012 trademark dispute.

The Seventh Circuit revived a marker company's bid for damages allegedly stemming from its insurer's refusal to defend an underlying trademark dispute, saying Wednesday a remand is appropriate in the decade-old case that wound its way through multiple forums and "is, and hopefully will remain, an anomaly."
