Auto repair shops have asked a Mississippi federal court to deny attempts by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and others to dismiss an antitrust suit in which the shops allege a conspiracy to manipulate car repair costs, saying their amended complaint meets pleading standards.

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. asked a Mississippi federal judge on Thursday to junk an antitrust suit accusing it and other insurers of conspiring to manipulate car repair costs to reduce their repair-shop payments, arguing the complaint contains vague and conclusory allegations.

Automotive body shops accusing State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and other insurance providers of conspiring to manipulate car repair costs to reduce their payments asked the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate their cases, saying Tuesday that the factual allegations are nearly identical.
