    ERCOT Hits Back At Insurer In Winter Storm Coverage Suit

    Texas' primary electricity grid operator, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Inc., has slapped The Cincinnati Insurance Co. with claims it's in breach of their contract and is violating state insurance code by refusing to pay the operator's defense costs in hundreds of lawsuits related to February 2021's deadly winter storm.

    Insurance Co. Wants Ruling It Doesn't Have To Defend ERCOT

    The Cincinnati Insurance Co. has asked a Texas federal judge to declare it has no responsibility to defend or indemnify the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Inc., the state's primary grid operator, in sprawling litigation stemming from the deadly winter storm that killed more than 100 people in February.
