Insurer Wins Jury Verdict In Katrina Damage Case

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 3:04 PM EST) -- A Mississippi jury has given a rare win to an insurer in a suit over damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, concluding that the Prime Insurance Syndicate did not breach an insurance contract with a homeowner in a dispute over the appraised value of the damage.

The jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi reached its verdict Jan. 19 after a six-day trial in the case filed by Ronnie and Patricia Bryant of Gulfport, Miss.
