Utilities Seek To Freeze Federal Nuclear Waste Fee

Law360, New York (April 6, 2010, 12:14 PM EDT) -- State utility groups and nuclear power companies have asked a federal appeals court to bar the U.S. Department of Energy from collecting a fee on electricity produced at nuclear facilities to fund nuclear waste management efforts, arguing that the agency has no clear plan for deploying the cleanup funds.
