Dorsey Counsels In $250M Sale To Rakuten

Law360, New York (May 20, 2010, 4:43 PM EDT) -- Japan-based e-commerce company Rakuten Inc. has agreed to acquire online retailer Inc. in a $250 million all-cash deal as part of the company's ramped-up plans to expand its business around the world.

Rakuten said Thursday that the combination with would create the world's largest online retail marketplace, offering customers more than 60 million products from tens of thousands of global sellers. The acquisition of will be executed by Rakuten's U.S. unit Rakuten USA.
