Spain's High Court Hands Havana Club Mark To Pernod

Law360 (February 3, 2011, 8:28 PM EST) -- Spain's highest court ruled Thursday in favor of Pernod Ricard SA in a trademark dispute with Bacardi Ltd. over the brand Havana Club, affirming two lower court decisions for the French spirits company.

The Supreme Court of Spain said the statute of limitations for Bacardi and co-plaintiff Jose Arechabala SA to reclaim the Havana Club trademark, originally registered in 1935, had run out.
