UK Puts Brakes On Criminal Cartel Probe Of Truck Makers

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 1:51 PM EST) -- The U.K.’s economic regulator this week nixed a criminal investigation into suspected cartel activity among commercial vehicle manufacturers such as Daimler AG and AB Volvo, but said it is continuing a civil investigation into the matter.

The Office of Fair Trading had launched its investigation into suspected cartel activity in the U.K. involving commercial vehicle manufacturers in September 2010 under the Enterprise Act 2002, the regulator said in a statement.
