China Shenhua Wins OK For $605M Power Project

Law360, New York (March 9, 2012, 3:30 PM EST) -- China Shenhua Energy Co. Ltd., the country's biggest coal producer, said Friday it received government approval for an 845-megawatt power plant north of Beijing, its third coal-fired power plant launched in the past year.

The plant will also provide heat for a 4.6-square-mile area, the company said in a statement. The project is expected to cost 3.82 billion yuan ($604.8 million), about $121 million of which will come from the company's capital investment plan.
