Bee Deaths Cause France To Rethink Syngenta Insecticide

Law360, New York (March 30, 2012, 8:06 PM EDT) -- France's agricultural agency threatened Thursday to withdraw approval for the Syngenta AG insecticide Cruiser based on a new scientific study that suggested the product may lead to more honeybee deaths.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural Affairs and Regional Planning directed the National Institute of Agronomic Research and the Association of Agricultural Technical Coordination to speed up its examination of whether the insecticide's harmful effects could also be found in real-world conditions.
