Pakistan To Go Forward With $1.5B Pipeline To Iran: Report

Law360, New York (February 1, 2013, 6:16 PM EST) -- The Pakistani government has decided to move forward with a $1.5 billion pipeline project that would import Iranian gas reserves, despite global economic sanctions against Iran and a potential backlash from the U.S., after Iran agreed to loan Pakistan $500 million to finance the project, the Financial Times reported Thursday.

A senior official in the Pakistani government who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the government will go ahead with the project despite U.S.-led global economic sanctions against Iran, the FT report said....
