Mayer Brown Aids Carlyle On $605M New-Issue CLO Closing

Law360, New York (February 15, 2013, 12:22 PM EST) -- The Carlyle Group LP has closed a $605 million collateralized loan obligation, the Washington private equity titan's first new-issue CLO of 2013, Carlyle announced Friday.

The investment vehicle is known as Carlyle Global Market Strategies CLO2013-1. It will invest in corporate leveraged loans and high-yield bonds, the fund firm said.

A Carlyle spokeswoman said that the CLO closed yesterday and has already purchased some loans. She declined to comment further.
