$626M Apple Patent Verdict Spurs Supreme Court Appeal

Law360, New York (March 29, 2013, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Mirror Worlds LLC has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reinstate its $625.5 million verdict against Apple Inc., arguing the Federal Circuit created an arbitrary distinction between hardware and software in refusing to recognize that the sale of Apple computers running allegedly infringing operating systems violates its patents.

Mirror Worlds filed a petition for writ of certiorari on March 21, saying the Federal Circuit's 2-1 ruling that Mirror Worlds hadn't presented any evidence at trial that either Apple or its users actually performed the patented methods...
