NJ Sees More Attorney Sanctions In 2012

Law360, New York (August 15, 2013, 8:03 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court last year ordered nearly double the number of attorney disbarments that it did in 2011, this as the number of lawyers disciplined in the state increased by almost 5 percent, a report released Wednesday shows.

Not counting voluntary disbarments, the bulk of the 15 disbarments the high court issued in 2012 — compared to eight in 2011 — involved the knowing misappropriation of funds, according to the State of the Attorney Disciplinary System Report from the Office of Attorney Ethics....
