SunEdison Wins $212M To Finance Solar Power Plant In Chile

Law360, New York (September 10, 2013, 5:42 PM EDT) -- Missouri energy and technology firm SunEdison Inc. has received $212.5 million in project financing to construct in Chile what it expects to be the largest solar power plant in Latin America, the company announced Tuesday.

The International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the U.S. government’s development finance institution, will provide SunEdison with the funds through loans secured solely by collateral to build the 100 megawatt-peak Amanecer Solar CAP power plant in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
