Garlock Liable For $125M, Fraction Of Asbestos Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (January 10, 2014, 9:30 PM EST) -- A North Carolina bankruptcy judge handed a victory Friday to a gasket sealer that went bankrupt after years of lawsuits alleging the asbestos in its products caused mesothelioma, determining the company was liable for $125 million in claims — about a tenth of what the plaintiffs' attorneys sought.
