Skadden Reps Imerys In $1.6B Deal For Amcol Int'l

Law360, New York (February 12, 2014, 5:46 PM EST) -- French mineral company Imerys SA has agreed to buy Illinois-based specialty minerals and industrial materials company Amcol International Corp. in a deal valued at $1.6 billion, the companies said Wednesday.

Amcol shareholders will receive $41 for each Amcol share, a price the companies say is a 19 percent premium on the share price over the 30 trading days prior to Feb. 11. The merger agreement has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies.
