SEC Names New Chief Of Corporation Finance

Law360, New York (February 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Securities and Exchange Commission has named Cravath Swain & Moore partner John White as its new director of the Division of Corporation Finance. White will replace Allan Beller, who recently resigned and is rumored to be headed back to Cleary Gottleib Steen & Hamilton.

White joins the Division of Corporate Finance at a pivotal time, as the SEC works to regulate executive compensation, streamline accounting procedures and improve corporate governance.
