Pilots Slam Spirit Airlines In Labor Lawsuit

Law360 (September 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Air Line Pilots Association International union has filed a lawsuit accusing Spirit Airlines Inc. of violating a current collective bargaining agreement by engaging in a “systematic assault on its pilots.”

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, accuses the airline of attempting to coerce 500 Spirit pilots represented by the union into accepting violations of the current agreement “in an ongoing course of bad-faith conduct and disingenuous bargaining.”
