Cisco Asks To Stay Royalty Talks In Telcordia IP Suit

Law360, New York (February 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Cisco Systems Inc. has asked a federal judge to stay negotiations to calculate an ongoing royalty for future infringement of an optical networking system patent belonging to Telcordia Technologies Inc., citing appeals from both sides after a $6.5 million jury verdict in the case.

The motion, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, argues that the issues raised in both appeals could end up substantially altering the accounting and related royalty.
