11th Circ. Revives Fla. County Whistleblower's Firing Case

Law360, Miami (February 3, 2017, 4:43 PM EST) -- The Eleventh Circuit has found that a case brought by a former employee of Florida's Lee County presents enough disputed evidence that a jury should consider her claims of whistleblower retaliation and overtime violations, but it affirmed the dismissal of her First Amendment claim.

The three-judge panel's unpublished opinion issued Thursday reversed and remanded the district court's orders granting summary judgment to the county and several individual employees on plaintiff Lisa Wagner's claims brought under the Florida Public Whistleblowers Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act....
