Group Sues Over ESA Petitions For 4 Species

Law360, New York (April 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The environmental group WildEarth Guardians is seeking a court order requiring Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to act on the group's petitions seeking Endangered Species Act protections for four species: two plants, a salamander and a rabbit.

The group filed the suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, alleging that Salazar has failed to act on the petitions within the 90-day period required by the Endangered Species Act.
