A Delaware federal judge on Wednesday rejected Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s claims that Pfizer Inc.'s patent for the organ rejection drug Rapamune was invalid, handing Pfizer a victory in its efforts to halt abbreviated new drug applications for generic versions of the drug.

Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. on Monday exited a patent infringement suit launched by Pfizer Inc. against it and Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Delaware federal court in response to abbreviated new drug applications to introduce a generic version of the organ rejection drug Rapamune.
