Dairy Farmers Appeal Lowered Atty Fees In $50M Settlement
Groups of dairy farmers who obtained a $50 million settlement from Dairy Farmers of America in a milk price-fixing case said Thursday that they will appeal a Vermont federal judge's order awarding $7 million in attorneys' fees instead of the $16.6 million the groups' lawyers had sought.

Dairy Farmers Win Larger Share Of $50M Price-Fixing Award
Attorneys who negotiated a $50 million settlement for a class of dairy farmers in a milk price-fixing case will receive $7 million in fees instead of their $16.6 million request, a Vermont federal judge said Tuesday, saying a smaller cut will bring further benefit to the farmers at a time when milk prices remain low.
