Pulte Homes Inc.'s bid to overturn a May 2011 order granting class certification to a group of California homeowners over faulty insulation failed Friday when a federal judge determined that U.S. Supreme Court decisions in Concepcion and Dukes were irrelevant to the case.

After declining to certify a class of California homeowners three times, a federal judge relented Monday and narrowly certified claims against Pulte Homes Inc. over insulation that allegedly caused water damage and dangerous mold growth.
